    IdentificationA white moth with bold orange lines with brown margins; 20mmWS. When resting with its wings fully extended, the three orange and one brown line form dramatic sub-parallel horizontal lines, and the outer forewing has three orange bars. Forward of the more...mid-forewing there is a brown spot. CATERPILLARS are herbivores living underwater in ponds and marshes. They breath through an abundance of filamentous gills on the sides of their bodies.
    Similar SpeciesParapoynx fluctuosalis has a wavy-line pattern. It has a vermore...y disjunct circumglobal distribution and in the Pacific islands it has been recorded in Fiji and Hawai‘i (GBIF 2024-12).
