    IdentificationThe Penrhyn 2024 vagrant was a breeding adult with fully black head: white and gray with dark grey or black highlights. WING UPPERS grey with white trailing edge and white tip with black subterminal band. HEAD black hood with white partial "eye-ring"more..., bill dark reddish.TAIL short and white. FEET dark. Vagrants beyond the Americas are also often non-breeding adults with a partial head-cap extending to below the eyes.
    Similar SpeciesLaughing Gull is very similar but it has wingtips black withmore... limited white posteriorly (vs white with black subterminal band, clear on Penrhyn bird 2024).
