IdentificationWingspan 25-35mm depending on food supply. FOREWINGS pale brown with brown bars and cream patches. HINDWINGS white with pale brown margin. CATERPILLAR translucent cream to reddish, with black head and prothoracic plate, the latter paling with age. For details see under "Similar Species".
Similar SpeciesCompared to Terastia subjectalis, Sourakov et al. (2015) stamore...te that T. meticulosalis has the FOREWING with a deeper apical notch; the HINDWING apex more tapering, margin is straighter, and the dark margin is narrower. Based on these features I think the 1937 Clarke specimen is T. subjectalis. (G.McCormack 2024-12).
