    IdentificationOur fungus species has not been examined by an expert. We list it as Ophiocordyceps sp. because this genus is known to infect Polistes and other wasps, and a wide-range of other insects. Before 2007, Cordyceps in family CORDYCIPITACEAE included specimore...es of Ophiocordyceps. The latter was not only recognized as a genus but it was put into a new family, OPHIOCORDYCIPITACEAE.
